The Edge control adds saturation to help the sub frequencies translate on small speakers. You have to be careful with this plugin because it can easily destroy your headroom if you push it too hard. It is a massive rescue tool for tracks missing fundamental bass frequencies.

The Class A version (the one with the red LEDs) models a specific limited-edition hardware unit built with Class A discrete gain cells. The Class A version adds a thicker and punchier harmonic saturation to the low end.

Most of their utility plugins and older EQs like bx_digital V3 are very light on CPU. However, the newer TMT consoles like the AMEK 9099 and oversampled plugins like bx_limiter True Peak can become CPU heavy if you drop them on fifty individual tracks.
